As Dr. Olusegun Rahman Mimiko clocks 7 years as the Governor of Ondo State I have been reading several congratulatory messages from all but I won't congratulate him, yes I won't. I won't congratulate him but I will rather drag him before the public court and let the people determine his fate.
Imagine this:
The governor and his team in the past 7 years have:
*established 21 ongoing institutions in the health sector alone!
* taken delivery of over 35,000 babies free of charge and with the best medical facilities
* from 4 consultants in 2009,the state now has 77 consultants as at the last count!
* over 900 projects including health centres,bore holes,schools and town halls in rural communities across the state!
* Built 41 neighbourhood markets across the state thereby changing the mentality of our market women from the unkempt,disorganized,hazardous to the neat,modern,covered and well organized trade environment.
* 52 mega schools across the state and renovated 122 other primary schools in the state !
*Reconstructed the unity secondary schools and renovated many others.
*The biggest University Senate building in any state university in Nigeria!
* established Nigeria's first university of medical sciences.
*reduced infant and maternal mortality in Ondo state from worst in the S'west to the lowest in Nigeria.
*under whose administration Ondo stunned the law school with a fledgling AAUA law faculty emerging overall best in the bar final exams.
* Ultra modern AKURE shopping mall from the slum it used to be!
* Over 150 road projects completed in Akure alone.
* over 50 new establishments providing employment opportunities!
* The most successful Nigerian governor in CAF tournaments in the past six years!
*the only S'west governor to sustain a formidable women football team in the Nigerian elite league.
* The first governor to give Ondo state an astro turf,flood lights, renovated and constructed 4 stadia.
