The Department of State Services, DSS, has denied arresting the suspended governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele.
The DSS dismissed reports of Emefiele’s arrest in a statement via its official Twitter handle on Saturday.
It stated, “Currently, Emefiele is not with the DSS.”

Recall that President Bola Tinubu suspended Emefiele from office with immediate effect on Friday.
Director, Information, in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, Mr Willie Bassey disclosed the suspension in a statement issued in Abuja.
He said the decision was “sequel to the ongoing investigation of his office and the planned reforms in the financial sector of the economy.”
“Mr Emefiele has been directed to immediately hand over the affairs of his office to the Deputy Governor (Operations Directorate), who will act as the Central Bank Governor pending the conclusion of investigation and the reforms”, the statement added.
