…Lauds remarkable achievements, immortalization of late Premier of Western Region
The Family of late Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola, GCON, has felicitated with the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde, FNSE, as he commences his second term.
In a press release co-signed by Elder Lenn Akanbi Ayoola and Prince Engr. Charles Akintayo Akintola FNSE on behalf of the Akintola’s Family, applauded the remarkable achievements of Governor Makinde during his first tenure.
“We are especially proud and happy with your swearing in for the second term.
“We know you earned this through hard work.
“We pray God guide you as you commence another term to build on your first term success and make Oyo State a better and greater place for the people.
“We are proud to associate with the amiable government of Engineer Oluwaloseyikis’eniyan Makinde, FNSE, and your works in Oyo State have been a landmark which cannot be easily matched by successive governments.
“As a Family of Samuel Ladoke Akintola, GCON, we believe we have a stake to have been contributing our quota in the anal of every government from the Western Region, Western State, Oyo State and Nigeria in general.
“We appreciate what you are doing to keep the name of our sage Samuel Ladoke Akintola great by making Ladoke Akintola University of Technology a fully owned institution of Oyo State among many achievements in the State,” the statement stated.
Late Chief Samuel Ladoke Akintola was a Politician, Lawyer, Journalist, and Administrator.
He was the Premier of the Western Region (1963-1966) and the 13th Aare Ona Kakanfo (generalissimo) of Yorubaland and regarded as one of the founding fathers of modern Nigeria.
