By Kayode Ajulo
As it is in the United Kingdom so it is in Nigeria. Today, Friday the 14th day of July 2023, in faraway London, a renowned super rich footballer, Benjamin Mendy was found not guilty of attempted rape and rape.
Coincidentally, an indigent budding local footballer, Josiah Moses in downtown Karu, Nasarawa State, Nigeria was discharged and acquitted of the offence of rape.
It was a tumultuous journey for us at the Abuja office of Kayode Ajulo & Co. Castle of Law, where we extended our pro bono service to the accused, Josiah Moses for the past three years while the trial lasted.
Commuting the ever busy, dusty and dreaded Abuja-Keffi road with its attendant nuisance alone could discourage any lawyer.
I must therefore salute the courage, competence, industry and tenacity of the shinning Knights in golden armor and my Castle Brothers of the Law, Zak Babah, Esq, Prof Bukola Akinola, Esq, Bankole Aduloju, Esq., Samuel Akinola, Esq. Micheal Okejimi, Esq, Lasisi Hameed, Esq. Ifunanya Jemilla Okeke, Esq., Hamza Dantani, Esq., Roseline Akinsanmi, Esq., Ademide Adun, Esq., Emmanuel Partrick, Esq., Eniola Oyelami, Esq. Ifedayo Samuel Ikhenoba, Esq., Beloved Olugbenro, Esq., Queen Nduka and others, all of you deserve an *OON* each for this.
I sincerely appreciate your assistance, and may the Maker of the Heaven & Earth reward you all.
