The National/State House Assemblies Election Petition Tribunal  sitting in Kano, on Thursday sacked Hon. Mukthar Umar Yarima of the New Nigeria  People Party ( NNPP in Tarauni Federal House of Representatives Election for forging his Primary School Certificate.

While delivering the judgment on Thursday, the three panel led by Justice I P Cheema, upheld that the Respondent; Mukthar Umar Yarima, does not attend Hausawa Primary School as he alleged to have attended in his documents.

The Panel then declared that all the total votes scored by Umar Mukthar Yarima of the NNPP during the poll as wastage and consequently returned and declared the petitioner, Hafizu Kawu, of the APC as winner for being the runner-up during the election.

According to the tribunal, after evaluating the witnesses’ statement on oath as well as the documents tendered before the Tribunal, it discovered that Umar Yarima forged his Primary Certificate and therefore was not qualified to contest for the Tarauni Federal House of Representatives Election.

However, the Tribunal also said it relied on the submissions of some of the witnesses under cross examination which indicated that the Primary Certificate tendered by the winner of the election did not emanate from Hausawa Primary School as he alleged to have attended.

The Tribunal similarly ordered all parties to bear their cost.(Tribune)
