Dino Melay Set The Record Straight Despite Kogi Governorship Loss

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate in the Kogi State governorship election, Dino Melaye, emphasized that his decision not to participate in the voting process should not be attributed to his electoral loss.

Despite securing the third position in the polls, with Usman Ododo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerging as the governor-elect, Melaye dismissed claims that abstaining from voting had negatively impacted his chances.

Arguing his stance, Melaye asserted, “People win elections from prison; whether I vote or not, it is immaterial.

During Monday’s segment of Channels Television’s Politics Today, he further clarified, “The issue of voting or not voting has no legal status. People win elections in prison. Legally, it has no relevance to the election. Whether I voted or not, it is immaterial.”
