Ondo Crisis: Kayode Ajulo Cautions President Bola Tinubu


Some critical stakeholders in Ondo State have cautioned President Bola Tinubu to be mindful of his intervention in the ongoing political debacle rocking the State


Leader of the group and Senior Advocate of Nigeria Dr Kayode Ajulo made this assertion as a guest on Inside Politics With CKN, a political programme aired on Silverbird Television on Friday 


Dr Ajulo opined that constitutional provisions relating to the matter must be adhered to the latter 


He frowned at the alleged tripartite committee set up to administer the affairs of the state which he said was unconstitutional 


He went further to state that if it is proved that the current governor Rotimi Akeredolu has been incapacitated, then the Deputy Governor Aiyedatiwa should be sworn in as the Acting Governor 


Also speaking on the role of the Judiciary in the ongoing  political litigations in the courts, the silk said the judiciary have not done badly in their judgements but there is always room for improvement 


When asked to comment on the appointment of INEC Chairman by the President, Dr Ajulo stated that by the provision of the 1999 constitution as amended, the President has the power to appoint INEC Chairman. 


He also frowned at the appointment of card carrying members of political parties as INEC officials , he stated that where it is established that such appointments were made , it should be reversed immediately for equity and fairness
