A sexagenarian man simply identified as Ali Baba and his 52-year-old friend, Kayode Olete, have killed themselves after a fight in Inisa, Odo-otin local government of Osun state.
Findings showed that the incident happened Thursday evening around 9:00pm when the two friends started fighting over reasons yet to be ascertained.
Blueprint Weekend gathered that the sexagenarian was a Ghanaian and palm wine tapper who had lived in Inisa for many years.
Further findings showed that the deceased were known to be good friends for many years before the incident that led to the fight broke out.
“Nobody knows what led to their fight as the house where the incident happened is isolated and dilapidated. Passersby later saw them in a pool of blood as they had stabbed themselves with the intestine popping out,” sources told our reporter.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Adeleke Kehinde, confirmed the incident, saying “when we heard, our officers immediately contacted the chairman of the LCDA and the elders of the community.”
“When we got to the scene this morning (Friday), it was discovered that the two of them had passed on. The families of the two victims were contacted and they gave their consent for them to be buried,” he said.
